In April 2018, V. Press would like to hear from
writers and editors interested in potentially being a guest editor for V. Press.
We envisage guest editors choosing their favourite submission
and seeing this through the editing stage of preparing the manuscript for
publication. Editorial support and advice would be offered but the manuscript choice
and editing would be in the guest editor’s hands.
Unfortunately, this is not a paid role, as V. Press is not
currently a wage-paying or staffed company. However, we hope the role would
offer valuable experience and training, as well as the pleasure of bringing a
new V. Press title into existence.
Ideally, guest editors would have some previous editorial
experience at some level and at least one published pamphlet of their own.
V. Press do not currently publish authors based outside of
the U.K. because of the distribution issues with selling titles overseas. However,
guest editors could be based overseas as long as they’re readily available
through email. And we would welcome the different perspective and diversity
that input from an internationally based editor might bring.
Expressions of interest in the role, with an outline of past
experience, email and postal address, and what the editor feels they could bring to the role should be no
longer than 2 sides of A4 and emailed to Sarah Leavesley at
vpresspoetryAThotmailDOTcom.
